The cast results in cleaner cuts and finishes, and the paper masking is smooth to come off after laser cutting.
Acrylic has clear advantages over PET & PVC including higher strength and resistance to heat, cold, and UV.
Before starting your DIY project, here are some tips to keep in mind:
1. Measure and mark the sheet before cutting and peeling
2. Cut the plastic either with a saw that has a suitable blade for plastics or laser cutter
3. Peel the cut sheets afterwards
4. Keep the protective paper film on until ready for use to prevent scratches.
Note: If you stack the sheets without the mask, the materials rubbing against each other can scratch each other.
5. If desired, cut edges can be sanded and polished with a buffing wheel.
