The difference between Si mirror and Mo mirror:

Usually a complete beam path outside the laser tube requires three reflect mirror and a focus lens. Laser will loss when it travels, so the laser machine need a higher reflectivity mirror.

There are two kinds of reflect mirror used in co2 laser machine: molybdenum (Mo) mirror and silicon mirror.

Silicon mirror has a better reflective ability, which can reach 99.2%there is less loss of energy, if the reflective is better, the machine can work better.

For molybdenum, the reflective can only reach over 97%.

But Mo mirror is more durable, like one year, for silicon mirror, 9 month maybe. And Mo mirror can work under very bad situation, like in low temperature, highly oxidability environment.

On the surface of silicon, it was coated with film, sometime the cutting material would rust the film
